Vera has been a Personal Trainer at Uplift Studios since its inception. She is firmly dedicated to Uplifts' mission to empower women in a supportive, feminist, and non-judgmental environment. As a former Drama Therapist at Bellevue Hospital, she truly understands the mind/body connection, and believes in connecting women to their strength, passion, and joy through fitness and fun. After turning 50 in 2014, Vera decided to develop a personal training and small group training program for women over 50 years old. "Fit & Fierce after 50" has been a huge success with her clients who have achieved new levels of fitness, and who have found meaningful new friendships with other Fierce Women. As a breast cancer survivor herself, Vera is also currently exploring how fitness and positivity can help other women who have been diagnosed with the disease. Recently, she was featured in a Well and Good article where she spoke about her recovery and her "Focus on the Good."
